  • What is Toxity?
Toxity is an app that helps you scan ingredient lists on products such as skincare, food, beverages, toothpaste, and household items etc. The app analyzes ingredients to give you information about potentially harmful substances that may be irritating or toxic or that are known to cause allergic reactions.
  • How do I use Toxity?
To analyze a product, open the app and tap the scan button. Take a clear, focused photo of the ingredient list, making sure all text is readable. Once you press "Analyze," the picture is sent for text extraction, and the ingredient list is then analyzed by AI.
  • Can I use Toxity on all types of products?
Toxity works best for products with clear ingredient lists, such as food, beverages, skincare, haircare and household products. In some cases, highly complex or specialized products may provide limited information.
  • How reliable is the information from Toxity?
Toxity is based on an AI model trained with updated ingredient data. We highly recommend double-checking ingredients if you have specific health concerns or allergies.
  • What should I do if the app can’t read the ingredient list correctly?
Make sure you take a clear picture with even lighting, avoiding glare or shadows. You can also use the built in flashlight function. If the issue persists, contact our support team for further assistance.
  • Can I use Toxity offline?
Toxity requires an internet connection to send the image for text recognition and AI analysis. This is essential to ensure accurate and up-to-date ingredient analysis. You can access your previous scans under the history tab when offline.
  • How do I know if an ingredient is harmful?
Toxity provides a short description for each ingredient, indicating if it has been linked to potential risks. Ingredients with studies suggesting harmful effects on humans or the environment are marked in red, making it easy to identify substances that may be toxic, irritating, or environmentally damaging.
  • How long does it take to get an analysis?
The analysis usually takes only a few seconds, but this can vary depending on your internet connection and the product’s ingredient list.
  • How many scans do I have?
You get a limited number of scans when signing up. Each analysis uses one scan. To continue using the scan function, you will need to purchase additional scans. For current pricing, please check within the app. You will be able to see how many scans you have left from "My profile"
  • Will Toxity be available for Android?
Toxity is currently available only on iOS, but we have plans on releasing an android version aswell.
  • Why can’t I find Toxity in the App Store?
If Toxity is not available in your Apple App Store, it means that the app has not yet been launched in your region.
  • Can I track my scanned products?
Yes, you can view a history of your past scans in the app. This allows you to revisit ingredient analyses without using additional scans.
  • Does Toxity work on prescription medications or supplements?
Toxity is designed primarily for consumer products like skincare, house hold items and food. It should not be used for medications or supplements, so always refer to medical advice.
  • Can I export my scan results?
Currently, you can take a screenshot of your analysis and share it with others. We are looking into adding an export function in the future.
  • Will Toxity work on restaurant menus or homemade food?
Toxity is designed to analyze packaged products with standardized ingredient lists. It may not provide accurate results for restaurant menus or homemade food where ingredients are not explicitly listed.
  • Can I use Toxity in dark environments?
Yes! Toxity includes a built-in flashlight function that helps you scan ingredient lists in low-light conditions.
  • What is Deep Dive?
Deep Dive is an exclusive feature available to Premium Package subscribers. It provides a more in-depth analysis of each ingredient beyond the basic classification of whether it is safe, irritating, or potentially harmful. With Deep Dive, you can: See a more detailed breakdown of an ingredient’s effects on health and the environment. Understand how an ingredient is commonly used, including its function in skincare, food, or household products. Learn about potential long-term exposure risks, such as whether an ingredient may accumulate in the body or contribute to environmental pollution. Deep Dive helps you make more informed choices about the products you use, giving you a clearer understanding of what’s inside them. This feature is only available with a Premium subscription.
  • How much does Toxity cost?
Toxity offers a limited number of free scans when you sign up. After that, you need to purchase additional scans. For the latest pricing and available packages, please check the app’s purchase section.
  • Can I get a refund for unused scans?
All purchases are processed through the App Store, and refunds follow Apple’s refund policy. If you believe you were charged incorrectly, please contact Apple Support.
  • Do my purchased scans expire?
No, your purchased scans do not expire. You can use them at your own pace whenever you need.
  • How do I purchase more scans?
You can buy additional scan packages directly in the app. Go to the My profile menu and tap "Get more scans" and select the package that suits you best.
  • Do you offer a subscription plan?
Yes! Toxity offers a Premium Package subscription, which provides 30 scans per month along with access to the Deep Dive feature. With Deep Dive, you get a more detailed analysis of ingredients. You can subscribe through the app’s purchase section, and the subscription renews automatically each month unless canceled in the App Store.
  • Does Toxity save any images or data from my analysis?
No, Toxity does not save any images or ingredient lists after the analysis is complete on our servers. Images are stored local on your device. We value your privacy and aim to keep the app secure and private.
  • Does Toxity share my data with third parties?
No, we do not share any user data with third parties. Your scans and analysis results remain private and are not used for advertising or other external purposes.
  • Can I delete my scan history?
Yes, you can manually delete your scan history within the app. To do this, go to the History menu and swipe left on the item you want to remove. Since all scans are stored locally on your device, deleting them from the history will permanently remove them.
  • Does Toxity collect any usage analytics?
We may collect anonymous usage data to improve app performance and user experience. However, this data does not include any personal or identifiable information.
  • Why does Toxity request access to my camera and photos?
Toxity requires camera access to take pictures of ingredient lists for analysis. When you scan an ingredient list, the image is temporarily sent to our text-extraction tool in the cloud to convert it into text. This text is then analyzed by our AI. However, the image itself is not stored on our servers—only on your device. We prioritize user privacy and do not retain any images after the analysis is complete.
